Unicum was founded in the 1920s. As technological and industrial developments progressed, the plant, still based in Saint Etienne, began trading to distribute many European power transmission products and systems in France. It is this activity, which in the early 1990s enabled him to find a German manufacturer of integrated geared motors. An impulse that will be a decisive turning point for the company.
After distributing and developing many versions of above-ground motors, or installed in tanks, the first tubular geared motors were developed in the early 2000s. In a few years, UNICUM has become the reference on the market for pool cover geared motors.
